Astar Explorer is a unique and innovative space located in the Fair Oaks Mall. We believe in a hands-on approach to inspire students across Northern Virginia through impactful learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Our program offers innovative opportunities to explore, create and engage with STEM. Astar Explorer has a focus on building diversity and inclusion across cultures and across our community through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Mission Statement: At Astar Explorer, we believe in the stimulation of young minds through interaction and hands-on learning. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are the language of today’s world. We want to engage young minds, get them excited and feel confident.

Our Philosophy: We believe in stimulating young minds through interaction and hands-on learning of STEM. We do this by offering a unique space and creating fun, research-based educational programming. We empower our communities youth to harness their own creativity and become innovative leaders of tomorrow in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics fields.  These fields are the language of today’s world and the future of our global community. We seek to engage students minds, build confidence and get them excited about learning.

Moral and Ethical Development: We establish clear and consistent boundaries, which shows respect for children and their needs. Respect for self, others, and the environment are of utmost importance. These values are modeled by teachers and discussed during lessons. Children develop trust in the classroom community through respectful and appropriate interactions with teachers and peers, moral and ethical behaviors then develop naturally.
